Signs Your Computer Could Benefit From a Tune-Up
This service is designed for computers that work, but have become noticeably slower over time.
Slow Startup
Windows takes much longer than it should to reach the desktop and become ready to use.
Programs Open Slowly
Everyday applications take too long to launch or respond.
General Sluggishness
Menus, folders, browser tabs and everyday Windows tasks feel slower than they used to.
Too Many Startup Programs
Unnecessary programs loading with Windows can slow startup and use resources in the background.
Low Storage Space
A nearly full system drive can contribute to poor Windows performance and update problems.
High Resource Usage
Background apps and processes may be using excessive memory, processor or disk resources.
What Happens During a PC & Laptop Tune-Up?
The aim is to identify sensible improvements without making unnecessary changes to your computer.
- Review Windows startup performance
- Check unnecessary startup programs
- Review storage space and temporary files
- Check resource usage and background processes
- Review Windows updates and general system health
- Remove sensible temporary clutter where appropriate
- Make safe performance improvements where appropriate
Sensible Improvements
The service is about finding genuine performance problems — not installing unnecessary optimisation software or making risky changes just for the sake of it.
A Tune-Up Isn't Right for Every Problem
If your computer has a specific fault rather than simply being slow, another support service may be more suitable.

Tell Me What's Slow
We'll confirm what you've noticed and when the performance problems usually happen.
Connect Remotely
You approve the connection and can watch everything happening on your screen.
Check & Improve
I'll review the main performance areas and make appropriate improvements within the service scope.
A Tune-Up Can't Fix Every Slow Computer
Sometimes poor performance is caused by ageing or failing hardware rather than Windows configuration.
If checks suggest that the computer needs a physical upgrade, replacement drive, additional memory or another hardware repair, I'll explain what has been found rather than making unnecessary software changes.
Physical component replacement and internal hardware repairs are outside the current Suffolk Tech Care service scope.
You'll Get a Clear Explanation
If the computer is simply too old or has a likely hardware limitation, you'll be told rather than being sold unnecessary work.
Remote PC & Laptop Tune-Ups Across Suffolk
The tune-up is carried out remotely, so you don't need to bring the computer anywhere.
PC & Laptop Tune-Up appointments are available to home users and small businesses throughout Ipswich and Suffolk, provided the Windows computer can connect to the internet and a remote session can be established.
